The Food Is Always Good! The roast beef and bacon torta is my favorite. Delicious potatoes too.

This place was a GEM literally!! So devastated to see it closed for good.

Big tortas, great deal. Im from Guadalajara where tortas ahogadas originated, so I was excited to see it on the menu... but its different. The sauce is not the same and they put refried beans on it. They use white onion instead of purple... wrong bread....Not spicy at all.... but still delicious!! Ate every bit and used the delicious salsas from the salsa bar to add some spice! I'll be back for sure!

Super comfy. Fantastic sandwiches, and really generous on their meat portions. That was my favourite part. Tortilla soup is spot-on, was great for the cloudy weather outside.

The food was amazing and there was such a variety in what was offered on the menu as well. We especially loved the type of ambiance and decoration; it was different than what we typically see in a Mexican eatery! The staff was very nice too, we stayed for a long time and weren't pressured to leave or anything. Overall a really nice experience at La Tora Cafe!

Every one of their tortas that I've tried has been absolutely delicious. 😋We've been coming to La Torta for 16 yrs. now, since they were at their original location on La Mesa Blvd., and we love their current location--so cozy inside, and the outdoor patio under the big shady trees is wonderful.

Huge Tortas with melted cheese, and homemade potato chips. Also great salsa bar. Not the same as all taco shops. We loved it

They are permanently closed as of last Sunday 2-9. Nice little place I’ll miss it.

Great food! It's a La Mesa staple!

The Fortas are pretty good. Many people prefer the round fries. I prefer them a lot more crispy. But I love the front patio. It's so relaxing here. It makes whatever you eat more pleasurable.I would recommend this cute little place..

Service is awesome, food is delicious and big portions.

Oh my goodness the tortas were amazing. I'm not a fan of tortas ironically but these made me a believer. They are so huge! The first half got me full but I powered on and ate the second. If I'm in the area again, I'd love to try their burritos

The chile relleno torta was amazing! And those potatos? Wow. I definitely recommend coming to this wonderful cafe that has delicious food, a great staff, and cozy outdoor seating.

Amazing food! We were visiting from out of town and I wish I would have found this spot at the beginning of our trip. The portions were great and the prices were very reasonable. I got the carne asada salad and it was sooo filling. My husband got the spicy shrimp burrito and he could only finish half of it. Our friend took half his torta home. The food was so delicious and fresh. Looking forward to our return.

La Torta always serves high quality service and food. Their menu has a lot of things other Mexican places do not. There are ample healthy alternatives. It is our families favorite place to eat. They also have craft beer on draft.

The food is simply delicious and the staff always have an excelent attitude.English, Spanish and even Portugese is spoken there.

It's all quality food (ingredients wise) for everything I've tried plus the location is nice. But hands down the best item is the Chipotle BEEF Torta. Give it a try.

get there asap! sadly I was told today that the restaurant will be closing on sunday 2/9- this is lame news because I've been here many times over the years, and with each visit the food had always been consistently good. and it still is today. my goal was to eat every torta on the menu lol (there's like 48). the family and staff, the quality food, dining atmosphere, cleanliness, the location- everything. always good. I know this is a bold statement w us being in san diego and all, but personally I think it's one of best spots in the city. truly a neighborhood gem. I'm told they've been there since 1994 and I've been coming here since 2011 to the family and staff of la torta I say thank you for being a long-standing part of the la mesa community. we're all sad to see you go.

This place has the best tortas I've ever had. The Cuban torta had a ton of delicious meats on it and great depth of flavour. The Milanese torta had a nice balance of breaded steak and veggies. The prices were pretty good as well, everything was fresh. The nice and fluffy rolls were the perfect bread for the sandwich.

My favorite lunch spot In downtown Mesa.Great variety on the menu with lots of options. That was kind and worked very hard to get our food out quickly. Food tasted very fresh as well as delicious. I enjoyed that they have their own parking lot as parking can be tight sometimes in the area

I am deeply sadden by this restaurant being closed. We found the one in Pacific beach about 20 years or so. We made great memories with our loved ones, that some are not with us anymore. We followed you to la mesa store. I remember your dad one evening, while we had dinner, he came over with some churros filled with something and gave it to the kids. That was the first time ever that we had filled churros. We miss your dad and we loved seeing his picture and all of you guys. Good luck with everything you do in life. Wish some family member would have kept it going. Iwould h

I got the today Cubans, it was delicious. It was my first ti me going to La Torta Cafe, it didn't disappoint. My dad goes here at least once every okther week. This says a lot!

Food is good.. place was clean including the restrooms. The service was good, very friendly.

Great tortas. Salsa bar is packed full of flavor and they got any combo of meats and veggies u can imagine for a torta.

I took my wife for the first time and she loved it. She was amazed of the large portions so she was able to take the other half of are meal home for tomorrow's lunch.

I don't know how this place makes money with the amount of meat they put on their sandwiches. Salsa bar is also top notch. The location is great as well. If you're trying to impress a foodie friend this is the place.

Unfortunately this place has closed. My SO and I were very saddened to hear this, since we had just gone there for breakfast a little more than a week ago. This was actually the only place ever we got a Groupon and afterward became repeat customers.Their salad was one of the things I loved most about this place, while my SO enjoyed their fresh and tasty burritos. I also had a number of their tortas, which were all great. Their portion sizes were massive, the food was great and the prices very reasonable.Their churros were good too and by far, the cheapest of any place we ever went to. During the many years we went there, we tried many things and found all of it fantastic.We will greatly miss this place and give best wishes to the family for the future.
